I'm not good at merriment,
I can't even dance

Biography

I'm a copy editor on the news desk of The Record, a daily newspaper in Hackensack, N.J., across the river from New York City. My interest in things Japanese was greatly whetted by a three-year residence (1995-98) in a rural farming town on Japan's Pacific coast, about two and a half hours by rail due east of Tokyo. I was an English teacher in the town's junior high school and two elementary schools.
