Welcome to issue 13 of Electric Acorn, the twice yearly ezine of the Dublin Writers Workshop. Once again it's packed with the best writing from Ireland and abroad.

I'm particularly excited by the number of new Irish writers in this issue. It's always been EA's policy to encourage new Irish writing - the only difficulty was getting them to submit anything! But the trend is improving and I'm getting more and more submissions from Irish writers, I'm pleased to say.

I'm also pleased to publish some of my colleagues from the creative writing MA at the University of East Anglia in this issue. There are some truly extraordinary writers taking the course, and a few are featured here.
