The
Pedestrian as Athlete
I
move faster than most.
Except
up steps,
Which are my weakness.
(Here,
Where others bound,
I plod)
But
on the straight
I excel, outstripping
Most competition
From a staggered start.

Biography
I
have been writing poetry for about fifteen years, since I
was studying for the Inter Cert, though I really only blossomed,
as it were, last year (2002), when I wrote over forty poems.
up to that I had just five poems in my portfolio (I wasn't
a straight-off success, it took me a while to get good). I
had a couple of poems published in Riposte and one in the
Canadian magazine, Labour of Love in 2002 and I've had one
accepted by Studies, the Jesuit magazine. I have been a professional
actor since 2000, working mainly with Theatre of Joy. I live
in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, which is where I was born in 1972.
