I

I am not one of those people
who shower themselves liberally,
raining down upon others,
giving their all.

I'd rather reveal
different parts to different people
at different times.
So no one sees me the same.

I am never only me,
but sometimes I feel like nobody
after a particularly
bad night.

Biography

Colette Lawlor lives in Cumbria where she teaches biology at Furness College in Barrow. She is a member of Barrow Writers and some of her poems have appeared in anthologies and the magazines Never Bury Poetry, Bad Poetry Quarterly, first writer and Electric Acorn 12.
