B.J. Brown

Kissed in the doorway

A handsome man,
With flowers,
In love,
Or,
In trouble
It makes little difference.

1925

There are no heroes,
Not anymore,
Not in baseball,
Not in jazz,
No horns,
Or homeruns,
Fathers or sons,
Peanuts or cracker jacks,
Pin striped suits,
Or porkpie hats,
There's no style,
No Style anymore.

Mother

I wear God,
Around my neck.
