Eric McDonogh

At 10 past 24

Strands of the wonder
Just taken place
Are licked with proud tongue.
Night holds its breath
And silence marks now in mind
She tastes and savors
Silence,
And straw sticks
A quivering rising form
Empathic lick
Just a quivering form.
Not an old inspector
But young and inspected
With a flick,
And harmonious existence
Preludes to an unrequited kiss
Where night breathes relief
And those who wish for the cloths of heaven
Find them here,
In the miracle of birth.

Biography

From a farming background, I am 20 years of age and have been writing since I was 13. Currently I am a University of Limerick student studying computer systems., and as part of the course I am working in the US until September. I live in Tipperary in a small village called "Lorrha" and have lived there for about 5 years now, having moved from Co. Limerick. My poems cover many feelings which I have experienced since I began writing, some are happy, some are sad, but all are true. More of my work can be found on my website www.csn.ul.ie/~emc.
