Robyn Ihrie

Haiku

Male and female sigh.
Mars and Venus clatter swords.
Thus, the race goes on.

Susurration stops.
The sea sighs eternally.
Full tide turns again.

Sunset

Tan velvet dust
silky and sweet
sifts between my toes.
The day is fading
to the west
the dark dirt road points
to a brilliant orange glare
with purple streaks
and pink...
I move toward it
wearing my cloak of dreams,
warm, worn.

Biography

I was born and raised in Indiana. Bachelor of Fine Arts from Indiana University. Left Ft. Wayne two years ago and now live at a lake in north central Indiana. I have always felt close to the earth and its creatures and derive inspiration and sustenance from the beauty of the waters and woods around me. My art is figural, charcoal, pastel, experimental printmaking, and papier mache are some media that I use. I love to travel and love good music, books and canoeing. I also am an equestrian and have taught therpeutic riding. I live alone with my companion, an intelligent and faithful black chow chow named, Willow. I write when the muse taps me on the shoulder and pulls me into the "real" world. I continue to learn and still have moments of enlightenment that make the journey exciting!
