The Water of Anna

The people of Anna
say it's the water
that makes the women
so beautiful

Which made me think
I hadn't been deluded
walking the streets

or gazing around the
plaza during the Fiesta
struck by them

Something different than
the other villages;
their skin was brighter,
their figures, more shapely

At the far edge of the plaza
the water fell from a geyser
down a few steps
and into the heart of Anna
